Les Dejo el Mar (I Leave You the Sea), was the finalist for the Mariposa Book Award, and received third place as the best historical novel in Spanish. The novel is set during the late nineteenth century in México and in Spain and is based on the lives of the Victorias, who gained prominence in México’s pharmaceutical industry, and the Muguiras, Spanish immigrants who found success trading seeds and coffee.
